Ladyburg Is Coming To Old Town Alexandria

POPULAR FREDERICKSBURG HANDCRAFTED BATH AND BODY BOUTIQUE TO OPEN NEW LOCATION IN OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA
Ladyburg Owner Crystal Wellman has signed a lease for the former Firehook Bakery location at 105 South Union Street in the heart of Old Town
Fredericksburg, VA – Fast growing Fredericksburg handcrafted bath, body, and skincare boutique, Ladyburg, will open its second location right in the heart of the popular Old Town district of Alexandria, Virginia. Owner Crystal Wellman, and her husband Fred, signed a lease this week to take over the former Firehook Bakery at 105 South Union Street just off of King Street owned by King Street Properties.
The new space is just steps from the Torpedo Factory Art Center, newly opened Carluccio’s restaurant, Ben and Jerry’s and the growing Alexandria waterfront.
“We have been incredibly fortunate to build our business thanks to our great city and the community support in Fredericksburg, as well as visitors to the city, over the last two and a half years.” says Crystal Wellman. “We were often asked by customers from Alexandria and D.C. why we didn’t have a shop in Old Town, so we took their advice and are thrilled to be opening our second shop in the heart of this amazing historic city.”
The company was founded in October 2012 in the historic downtown district of Fredericksburg and has grown steadily by tapping into the growing demand for handmade, local, and healthier bath and body product alternatives by consumers. Products sold in the shop range from traditional soaps to sugar and salt scrubs, bath bombs, bubble bath bars, lotion bars, men’s and kids products as well as dozens more.  All Ladyburg products are handcrafted right in the shop or created by local, regional and American crafts-men and -women.
Ladyburg has become a popular destination both for locals and out of town visitors to Fredericksburg. Northern Virginia magazine highlighted the shop in their April ‘Day Trips’ edition and Huffington Post travel blog included the boutique on its Top 25 Things to Do in Virginia list the same month. In addition, Scoutology.com placed the store at number two on its Top 20 Virginia Gift Shops list as well as their 20 Great Shops in the Mid-Atlantic region.
While looking for the new location in Alexandria, Christina Mindrup, Vice President for Commercial Real Estate at the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, offered assistance and key support attracting Ladyburg to the Old Town district. Build out of the new space is commencing immediately and they expect to open the doors to the public in mid-July.
Up to date information can be found on Ladyburg’s new Facebook page for the Alexandria location at www.facebook.com/LadyburgALEX as well as the company’s Twitter, Pintrest and Instagram channels @LadyburgVA.
