University of Mary Washington student joins her mother Crystal Wellman as co-owner of Fredericksburg based Bath & Body Apothecary
Fredericksburg, VA – Fast-growing downtown manufacturer and retailer of bath and body products has a new co-owner as Morgan Wellman joins her mother and company founder, Crystal Wellman as part of the Ladyburg ownership team. Morgan is a 19-year old rising junior at the University of Mary Washington and has been an integral part of the management team of the store since it first opened.
“Morgan has been working at Ladyburg from the very first day we opened and has been a huge part of our success and has stepped into an even larger management role this year,” said founder Crystal Wellman. “It was really just common sense to make her my partner and let her manage the retail sales while I focus on our growing manufacturing and non-store sales.”
Morgan is a 2014 honors graduate of Mountain View High School where she finished her education in just three years. She spent a year on an honors scholarship at Christopher Newport University before she transferred to the University of Mary Washington last year where her studies are in Anthropology and Business.
“I’m so excited about joining my mom as a co-owner of our family business,” said Morgan Wellman. “Ladyburg has been part of my life, and our whole family, for almost four years now so having a hand in growing it and having her trust in giving me this opportunity means the world to me especially at such a young age.”
Opened in October of 2012, Ladyburg has become a destination shopping location in historic downtown Fredericksburg where customers can watch, as many of the products are made right in the shop. The company has recently re-branded to better reflect the handmade traditional apothecary approach they have to creating products and continues to grow and add new items to its inventory.
