LADYBURG’s flagship store in fredericksburg is moving – about 200 feet
Fredericksburg’s Local Family Owned Bath & Body Apothecary expands to meet increasing demand for production, workshops, and events
Fredericksburg, VA – After three years Ladyburg Bath and Body Apothecary has outgrown its flagship space in historic downtown Fredericksburg and is packing up and moving all the way across the street to 726 Caroline. The local family-owned, handcrafted bath and body company is moving to larger space to meet higher production demands of its handmade products and offer expanded workshops and party options right in the store.
The shop opened in October of 2012 when Master Aesthetician Crystal Wellman decided to create a unique boutique as an extension of her skincare practice. Since its founding Ladyburg has grown steadily while increasing its own line of handmade branded products, introduced a series of hands-on workshops, and opened a new shop this past summer in Old Town Alexandria.
“We’re really excited about moving our Fredericksburg store to this new space,” says Crystal Wellman, Ladyburg founder and co-owner. “We now will have a larger production and demo kitchen and the opportunity to host a broader range of fun classes and events without having to close the store to do it.”
The new location sits at the corner of Hanover and Caroline Street next to popular Benny Vitali’s pizza and is owned by the Bailey Brothers, LLC, business partnership that also owns and operates J. Brian’s Tap Room in the same building. The two businesses owners arranged the five-year lease privately.
“We love Fredericksburg and are so happy to be able to find a location that allows us to effectively double-down on our commitment to the exciting things we see happening in the historic downtown district,” co-owner Fred Wellman, a retired Army officer and CEO of Fredericksburg headquartered communications firm ScoutComms, Inc. adds. “The new space lets us grow our family business and offer more options to our customers while only moving a short distance on Caroline Street and continuing to proudly say our products are ‘Made in FXBG.”
Ladyburg-Fredericksburg will be closed briefly next week as the move is completed and will update customers on their social media channels about re-opening and a grand opening celebration in the new location. The Alexandria location will remain open and products will still be available on their website for order and shipping.
A new series of hands-on workshops and events will be launched at the new location including candle, lotion, and soap making in the store in coming weeks. A list of workshops and options to book parties are available on the shop’s website, www.Ladyburg.com.
Ladyburg has become a well-known shopping destination in historic downtown while supporting local nonprofit causes like the Fairy Godmother Project, Fredericksburg Service League and Team Red, White & Blue - Fredericksburg. Products sold in the boutique range from traditional soaps to whipped sugar scrubs, bath bombs, bubble bath bars, lotion bars, men’s and kids products as well as dozens more. All Ladyburg products are handcrafted right in the Fredericksburg shop or created by local, regional and American crafts-men and -women.
