Babes In Business | American Business Women’s Day

One of our favorite days is almost upon us, Sugar — National American Business Women’s Day! Why are we so excited to celebrate this day tomorrow? Because it wasn’t that long ago that women were just entering the workforce, and now today we are doing our share to run it! Pretty sweet, right?!

It’s estimated that there are nearly 12 million women-owned businesses in the country, and together they employ around 9 million people — that accounts for a lot of bubble baths at the end of each day! You can see the major impact that women are having on the business world. As an entrepreneur of a cheeky bath and body brand, I know what it takes to start your own business and to hang in there to see it through to a sweet success!

If you’re like many other women, you have a passion for something and you may have thought about becoming an entrepreneur so you can set that fire free. I am here to tell you to go for it and don’t look back! No business has ever become successful without taking that first leap, Sugar.

Here are a few sweet suggestions to help you, whether you are getting ready to start a business, already own a business, or you are whipping up something completely new for someone else:

• If possible, find a mentor in your field who can help give you some solid advice along the way. Find someone strong enough to give you the kudos as well as a reality check when you need one.
• When it comes to waiting for the “right time” to start your business, ask for a promotion, or take your business to the next level it’s important to realize there is no perfect time. In fact, there’s no better time than now. 
• Being your own boss can at times be tough, because you are often setting your own hours, holding yourself accountable, and wearing many hats. That’s okay! Take things in stride, learn to plan, organize, and continue marching forward. 
• No matter what field you are in don’t forget to take the time to simply breathe and do something that makes you feel good. We all need to relax, unwind, and feel pampered. Only then can we give the world the best version of ourselves.

Blaze a trail, set new records, take risks, and keep marching forward. We may be working in our businesses separately, but know that collectively we are all rocking the business world together, Sugar! Remember this: If it doesn’t work the first time? Do not give up! Get your hands dirty, wash and repeat!
